Save Time and Use Postage from Home
Oh let me count the ways the internet has saved me time and has allowed me to be as efficient as possible. The
latest ability that the internet has made easier in my life is by saving me trips to the post office. I can now
print postage from home and send postage right from my own address. No longer will I ever have to brave snow, sleet
or rain or ever have to wait in long holiday lines at the Post Office again. Here are a few tips on how to buy
postage online.
There are a few places that you can go online to print USPS-approved postage. One of the best is Stamps.com. I really like the ease and interface they provide. They make it very
simple for non-technical people to easily create postage in no time at all.
If you are too scared to give away any information on any websites, have no fear with Stamps.com or the USPS website. They are protected using the most advanced
encryption system in the world. Here’s what you have to do to get a package or piece of mail sent out
pronto.
From USPS’ website you will need to first select postage from the main screen. Select ‘buy’ in the little box
that says ‘stamps. You will then be asked how many you want to buy. The more you buy, the cheaper the stamps will
be. So if you have a lot of mail that needs to be sent out, you can buy more stamps now and use them whenever you
want.
If this is the first time using the USPS site you will need to register a new account. This is a simple process
where you will need to choose a username and password. You will also need to let them know if you are using this
website as a single entity or as a business. Businesses tend to get more discounts because of the bulk orders that
many businesses need.
You will then be asked to verify that everything is correct and then choose to agree to the USPS Privacy Act. If
you don’t agree, you won’t be able to buy postage from home using your own computer an internet connection.
When you have all of the information correct you will then need to enter the recipient’s information and
checkout. When you checkout you will need to enter all of your billing details. Usually just your credit card
number and mailing address.
That’s it! Print it out and attach it to the postage and you have officially just used postage from home.
